Don't know why Picasa doesn't always let my collages enlarge, but here it is again.

I was finally pursuaded to create a blog. Apparently, having a photo album was just not enough! At this point, I'm well into my Sisterlocks(tm) journey (6 years!), which was a milestone birthday present to myself in 2000, and the best hair decision I ever made. I've met many wonderful people because of my hair. Who knew that a whole network of great friends could be created based on a hair concept? Do not copy any photos without written permission (but you already knew that).

AHHHH THIS IS JUST BEAUTIFUL!! THANKS!
My goodness, how elegant are you?
Your tutorial is excellent! I'm a little behind on remaining updated w/ everyone's blogs but your blog is such an inspiration to me. Just knowing that you've been maintaining your own locks after 2 yrs. of SLs, and for the fact that they still look similar is amazing.
I still go to my consultant but, eventually I would like to start maintaining them myself probably once i'm done with school since I don't have the time right now. Are the patterns in the e-book similar to the the Nappylock patterns (I have the booklet) or completely different?
I wore it to a wedding this weekend. It is a great hairstyle for the Texas heat. Thanks!
By the way what is your hair washing routine? I have had my SL for nine years, so I change regularly and I am also searcing for new products.

This view is just what I needed. Great look!
Thanks for sharing.
Cheleskilove, Naturally Sophia and SisterinLocks - Thanks!
Dewdrop - When I purhased the e-book in 03, it only had one pattern and it was a 2-point - entering from east or west and then entering from north to south. I don't know whether it's been modified over time. However, everything I know about patterns now, I learned from reading the discussion boards and, actually, from reading the court decision on the suit Dr. Cornwell brought against Debra Belton who made the Nappylocs tool. I haven't read the Nappylocs book, but I understand there are several patterns discussed. My experience at this point has been that you probably don't really need the book unless you know absolutely nothing about patterns, as most people use a 4 point pattern. HTH!
Azzia - I'm so glad my instructions were helpful! Philly heat is just as miserable. I actually don't change my routine very much - I'm a creature of habit in many ways. I usually wash once every two weeks with Suave clarifying shampoo or Tresemme deep cleansing shampoo and follow with JML protein conditioner diluted by half and only on the lower half of my locks, not on the scalp. During the week, I'll spritz maybe once or twice with JML Shine-a-loc (but sometimes not - like in the summer). HTH!
I can imagine it taking 35-45 minutes to learn that bun style. OMG, I think my arms and hands would be so tired after about 5 minutes that I would need some sort of assistance...
Oh thats easy. I gonna try now.

WOW. Thank you for sharing. Eventhough my hair isn't long enough right now, I will keep a mental note of the steps. I'm agree with Nappytexangirl. By the time I finally learned how to do a Erykah Badu type headwrap, it was a struggle to lift my arms. I didn't stop until I got though.
Lookathere, lookathere! I can't wiat to have long locks just to do this! Thanks my sistah!
Love your hair and this post! Thanks so much!
Beautiful. I have got to try this.!
I am in awe, Brenda! I am always so taken back by your lovely locks!! They are a dream! Thanks for sharing the how-to pics for the Bun tutorial! I will be sure to refer back to it whenever my slow growing locks ever get long enough to pull up like that! ;-))
Thanks for sharing! I love the style and your hair is beautiful.
Your hair is beautiful, looks so healthy and so very nice.. How many inches is it or should I say feet..:-)
Wow. That is such a neat style and your instructions are so clear. I can't wait to try it another year or two. Thanks.
