Yes, it is just hair...once we've got to experience the pre-cut length that is.

Girl, pre & post cut your locks are fab-u-lous!

Tanya - Yes, I don't think I would have been able to cut it had I not gotten the chance to experience the length.
Valenciajaz - Thanks!
Tra - You'll be amazed at how fast your hair will grow. Between installation and year three it was most noticeable.

A great way to start the new year - by doing something for yourself and feeling good about it. So often we panic about the little things - you're right - it's just hair. More importantly, it's our NATURAL hair so we know that we can once again grow it back! I admire you. That's something I would (will) do when the time is right.

sister..your sisterlocks are fabulous
i've been thinking about cutting my hair or taking my locks out completely for a few months but havent so far...i havent been too pleased w/my hair because the curls tend to fall out after a day or two...i tried the soft spike curlers, but they didnt seem to work for me...what type of lotion or spray did you use on your hair?..your curls are amazing...after seeing your results i think i will cut a few inches off the top...my locks are about 14 to 16 inches long and tend to be thin in the top but this could have a lot to do w/the length of my hair...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..ive been locked for 5 years...one love/peace

Sharon - Believe it or not, my locks are also thin on top. After several years, I learned that if it's a little shorter, it'll keep a curl better. It's been about a week and a half since I cut and I decided that I needed to cut a little more. I'm going to take pictures tonight and post them of the even shorter cut.
As for setting, I don't use any lotions - just spritz with water. How many locks per roller are you using? I only put about 6 per roller and wind them right up next to each other for a tighter curl. Also, make sure you dry thoroughly before taking the curler out. I recommend sitting under the dryer for about an hour and then sleeping on them overnight.

I feel you on cutting. I have had sisterlocks for almost nine years. In 2006 I cut 16 inches. I felt so much lighter and I wasn't sitting on my hair all the time. Now I miss them. LOL
